Just Another Fall Day

I am looking out the window at the beautiful fall colors exploding all over the place. I am so thankful to live in a place where the seasons actually change. The older I get the more I love the fall! One year, I wrote a thankful post every day of November on Facebook. As I have reread some of them lately, it is interesting that some things never change! And yet, some things are so different from the year I posted those. The one thing that will always remain the same, God still reigns! And on that we can always rest and have faith!

I Love Fall!

This is my favorite fall/autumn poem, that I learned when teaching my young children to appreciate poetry. When the Frost is on the Punkin by James Whitcomb Riley When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock, And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkeycock, And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens, And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence; O, its' then's the times a feller is a-fellin' at his best, With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest, As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock, When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock. They's something kindo' harty-like about the atmusfere When the heat of summer's over and the coolin' fall is here-- Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees, And the mumble of the hummin-birds and buzzin' of the bees; But the air's so appetizin'

Behold Our God

Who has held the oceans in His hands? How has numbered every grain of sand? Kings and nations tremble at His voice; All creation rises to rejoice. Behold our God, seated on His throne, Come let us adore Him! Behold our King; nothing can compare. Come let us adore Him! Who has given counsel to the Lord? Who can question any of His words? Who can teach the One who knows all things? Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds? Behold our God, seated on His throne, Come let us adore Him! Behold our King; nothing can compare. Come let us adore Him! Who has felt the nails upon His hands, Bearing all the guilt of sinful man? God eternal humble to the grave; Jesus Savior risen now to reign! Behold our God, seated on His throne, Come let us adore Him! Behold our King; nothing can compare. Come let us adore Him! ~Sovereign Grace Music

It's April, Again

It's April, again. Spring is springing! Life is starting to return to some sort of normalcy during this COVID pandemic. But... April will always be different for me. I admit this past year was not normal, for at least 2 reasons: 1) the COVID pandemic which required social distancing, wearing a mask everywhere, state lock-downs, schools not meeting in person, job loss, etc., and 2) the second year of life without parents and still trying to learn how to live without them. Then there was the Presidential election that was the most contentious one I ever remember. We are still reeling from the outcome! Now there is a southern border crisis with illegal immigrants coming to the US by the 1000s, daily. With COVID! (I could go on for days over the condition of our country right now, but that is not what this post is about!) I miss my mom. I miss going to see her. I miss knowing she was praying for me and my family. I miss even the way she would annoy me at times. I miss not having the
